Basic Time Management TechniquesStarting with time management can be pretty easy, it all starts by integrating some simple time management techniques into our everyday life.  Through repetition, these techniques will be the foundation of our upcoming time management efforts.  Remember, you can always use the aid of tools such as organizer or to-do software to make your initial efforts.

The basic technique and concept of time management is planning.  Before we start doing our tasks for the day, we need to determine them and plan accordingly.  “Failing to plan is planning to fail” is very true, as we soon find out that we only make scattered efforts that don’t bring any results.  So set aside some time of the day to plan the things you need to do.

The second technique is making to-do lists.  These are simple bulleted lists of all the tasks you need to do.  Every time you complete one of them, you put a check next to it. To-do lists are great because at the end of the day they give you a sense of accomplishment and success - you become used to succeeding! As you will see making a good to-do list can be beneficial.  For example, you can break down hard tasks into smaller tasks, so they won’t seem hard anymore!

Prioritize.  This planning and list need to be prioritized.  What does this means? You will have to observe your list and put in first place the ones that need to be done urgently, and least the ones that can wait.  If all tasks are urgent, some experts recommend that you list them in order of difficulty, starting with the hardest.  This way you’ll get rid of the biggest burden first.

These are the basic time management techniques.  They will help you start simple, so don’t forget to plane very day and make your list.  These basic tips alone will put you ahead the majority of people who wander aimlessly throughout the day.
